Wildlife Land Trust

Updated: Sep 5

Wattlebewillbe is proud to be recognised as a registered Wildlife Land Trust (WLT) sanctuary, joining a national network of properties committed to protecting wildlife and their habitats.

The WLT program supports landholders who are dedicated to preserving biodiversity, promoting best conservation practices, and creating safe havens for native species across Australia.

At Wattlebewillbe, this commitment means ongoing efforts to restore remnant woodlands and seasonal waterways, protect habitat for threatened species like the greater glider, and demonstrate how conservation and regenerative land use can successfully work together on small-scale private land.

We’ll be sharing more about our conservation story and our involvement in greater glider conservation in the WLT biannual newsletter soon — stay tuned!

*Wattlebewillbe is a 22-hectare Wildlife Land Trust sanctuary in the Brigalow Belt, managed for conservation and ecological restoration since 2010. Previously cleared for intensive grazing and timber harvesting, it is now being restored as a regenerative conservation landscape that integrates low-impact food production with biodiversity recovery, with a particular focus on habitat for the endangered greater glider.
